"The combination of instruments and sounds are taken from the roots of classical, contemporary, African and Eastern philosophies that mix and blend beauty and sweetness, producing compositions with heart behind the music. Anna Fisher beams with the spirit of the positive, loving her music, her musicians, and possesses a real earth connection to culture that is exuded here musically in many forms. The music is presented to you with open arms - taking you in only to be loved by the tenderness." - LeRoy Downs 88.1 FM KKJZ www.TheJazzCat.net

Ms. Fisher has blazed many new trails in recorded and live music. Mastering two very difficult double reed instruments, she has moved the oboe and English horn into styles of music that it is seldom heard. Having studied classical music with some of the greatest legends, Leonard Bernstein, Isaac Stern, Seiji Ozawa she has always had a strong love for the classics but when she stepped away from the orchestra it was Jazz, Reggae and R&B that most inspired her! Actually she loves all styles and is most impressed when artists sing the truth to help humanity better serve itself. She'd heard Paul McCandless' flawless oboe with Oregon, Paul Winter and throughout Loggins and Messina's "Mother Lode" album as well as in Curtis Mayfield's "Superfly" she could also hear it in Sonny and Chers' "I Got You" and a slight few other Golden Oldies especially Smokey Robinson. Although she was studying for a bachelors degree in oboe she felt a calling to take oboe outside the usual parameters. Shortly after that she was introduced to the oboe stylings of Wind Specialist, Yusef Lateef. Since she wasn't hearing the double reeds in the kind of music she enjoyed as much as she'd like, she decided the time is now to be the difference she wished to hear in her own compositions. Her first song that she wrote with Vincent Licata, "Break the Silence - Stop the Violence" was played on many, many radio stations throughout Hawaii even before it was mastered! Her new sound has fast become popular, as major commercial radio stations and television shows have embraced her willingly! A delightful concoction of tropical island music with hauntingly beautiful key changes soulfully sung through her horns that is guaranteed to paint rainbow on your heart. Besides blowing two horns, Anna sings, composes, arranges, teaches and produces. This CD, a collaboration with keyboardist Jawge Hughes of St. Thomas US Virgin Islands as well as many Reggae legends was released in 2004. Fulfilling a childhood dream, she moved to Hollywood in 1995 to promote her music and has had the opportunity to work with such notable music legends as, Dick Clark, Quincy Jones, Paul Jackson, Jr., Barbara Morrison, Linda Hopkins, Billy Mitchell, Ernie Andrews, John B. Williams, John Bolivar, Lou Taylor, Phil Wright Trio, Phil Ranelin, John Hammond, Ed Townsend "Let's Get It On" "For Your Love", Surface, Joe Higgs, John Holt, The Wailers Band (Bob Marley's Band), Marcia Griffiths ("Electric Slide Boogie" and Bob Marley & The Wailers), Frankie Paul, Cuba Gooding, Sr.from the Main Ingredient; "Everybody Plays The Fool", "Just Don't Want To Be Lonely", Brenton Wood "Gimme Little Sign", "Oogum Boogum", Charles Wright, "Express Yourself", Los Angeles Lakers' Star, Kobe Bryant, Ali Woodsen (Temptations), H.B. Barnum, Rembert James and the list goes on and on. She finds time to sit in with some of her favorite Jazz artists; Hubert Laws, Barbara Morrison, John B. Williams, Onaje Murray and Ndugu Chancler at many of the local clubs in Los Angeles when she's not touring. Her styles include, Classical, Jazz, Reggae, R&B, Pop and Latin. A visionary for World Peace and Justice helping make the world a brighter place. When not touring she's played Los Angeles Convention Center, Arrowhead Pond Arena, The Roxy Theater, West Hollywood House of Blues, B.B.King's Live Universal Citywalk, Hollywood Park Casino, Great Western Forum, Los Angeles Sports Arena, Catalina's Bar & Grill, Hal's Bar and Grill, Wyndham Bellage, Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, Loews Santa Monica, Malibu Inn, Coach House Santa Barbara.
